Celorio Beaches

Celorio, Llanes town council has a total of 8 beaches of fine white sand.
Starting from the East, Celorio beaches are: Portiellu, San Martin, Los Curas, Las Cámaras, La Palombina Borizu, La Tayada and Troenzo. All of them except San Martín and La Tayada feature convenient pedestrian access.
From all of them you can see the green mountains of the neighboring mountains of “Cuera Mountains”

-‘LOS CURAS’, ‘LAS CAMARAS’ AND ‘LA PALOMBINA’ BEACHES: CELORIO – LLANES – ASTURIAS

The 3 beaches are separated by islets. And they all form one at low tide. From East to West they are:

  • “Los Curas or Los Frailes” beach

    Located just opposite the monastery of San Salvador de Celorio XI Century. It is the smallest beach and at high tide there is almost no sand.

  • “Las cámaras” beach

    Situated just off in the small Celorio’s seafront

  • The Palombina beach

    Great beauty, but very crowded

Being urban beaches, their occupation is quite high, always depending on the time of year. The surrounding environment is of great beauty so Celorio has always been one of the most touristic villages of Llanes, and in Asturias in general.

Celorio’s Beaches have in common a calm sea without waves. Ideal for children. Beaches are family character although there are all kinds of people and being in the village there are many nearby stores, restaurants, bars, as well as all services. Celorio is a town with a lot of life in the summer months as well as the entire area of eastern Asturias

-BORIZU BEACH

Borizu beach is the less “urbanized” in Celorio. It is close to several campsites and youth groups is more than the rest, but also familiar.
It is mainly characterized by being united with the tide to Arnielles Borizu Island, forming a landscape of great beauty why this beach has been the scene of numerous spanish films and TV movies located in eastern Asturias.

TYPE OF BATH:

Calm-waters
Like the rest of the beaches of Celorio, Borizu beach has no waves and calm water. One has some sea currents when the tide is half-right and the center of the beach area, so you should avoid that area at mean low tide. Otherwise, it is a quiet beach.

  • WALKING:
    -From the village of Celorio : 400 meters (3 minutes)
    -From the village of Barro : 1.8 km (20 minutes)
  • BY CAR Motorway Connection with 500 meters.

    -Poo: 2 km
